Does anyone have the key to unlocking the train ID numbers for the Pocahontas Division after the merger with the Southern in the early 80s.
Some examples:
31PBJ "3"indicates day of week train started where Sunday =1; "1" is first or only section?; but what does "PBJ" stand for (not peanut butter and jelly)---this is a westbound train out of Bluefield which reaches Williamson
2ND77 This train began yesterday (Monday=2); it is probably No. 77, but what do "ND" represent? This is a WB train from N__ to D__ (Norfolk to Detroit?)
22HSP Another WB out of Bluefield, it is the 2nd section of a train which began yesterday; but what is HSP? Where to where?
Any explanation of this train ID system would be extremely helpful and deeply appreciated.
