Unusual steam

The blow down outlet was back of the trailer; water comes out of the outlet and, being superheated (more than 212 degrees) it turns instantaneously to stem with velocity easily enough to carry it that far back.

Would the blow down be located near the rear tender truck? Usually I have seen them somewhere near the firebox.

I was just watching a youtube video on N&W articulateds. At about 24:19 there's a scene with a Y-class running by itself with a large amount of steam coming from what appears to be the center of the tender. What would that be coming from there?
