No, no, no, and no. That's 1000% wrong. Both a supercharger and a
turbocharger are air compressors that shove more air (and therefore more
oxygen) into an internal combustion engine. More air = more power. The
difference between the two is how they are driven. A supercharger has a
direct mechanical connection to the engine. That can be a belt, or gears, or
directly to the crankshaft. A turbocharger is powered by the engine's
exhaust gases spinning a turbine which the spins the compressor.  The
exhaust gases are then vented to the air. There may be some applications
where a small portion of exhaust gas is recycled to the engine to lower
pollutants or increase fuel efficiency, but that is external to the
turbocharger and not part of its function.
