Jimmy Lisle stated: "Taking in consideration of the lay of the land, the closeness of the roundhouse and smoke stack, and, since one other photo shows the coal wharf, this has to be Shaffer's Crossing."
There is a 30-feet Railway Post Office car behind the tender in one photo with the remainder of the passenger train in a subsequent picture. Depending upon the time the picture and whether the train is eastbound or westbound, this could be a view of train 1, 2, 3, 4, 15, or 16 passing. Attached is a 1927 schedule for the Columbus & Norfolk RPO and the table of space authorizations.
