Mr. King,
As Ken wrote, I'm guessing the Class K1 has been shopped and is en route
to its home terminal, not Bluefield, but maybe Williamson or likely
farther west. Before getting on their train, both engines may have
picked up additional empties to take advantage of the doubleheader's
increased tonnage rating up to Christiansburg and Bluefield. The
trailing engine with an extra crew got on first, followed by the regular
engine and road crew on the head end.
