Four Month Old N&W 611

I believe it’s westbound.  US 52 crosses the railroad at Chattaroy and east of there the railroad is sort of on a side-hill elevation above the highway.  I believe this photo is made just east of Tunnel 1 where the highway is level with the railroad as shown.  the Tug Is, indeed, out of sight on the right.

Subject: Four Month Old N&W 611

Attached is an early image of N&W 611 in service. Four month old 611 cruises through light rain, just west of Williamson, WV with an eastbound, in September of 1950. I'm guessing that is what is now -US 52, with the Tug Fork River, just out of sight. Image is a "Blue Stamp" Rail Photo Service 5X7 by WG Fancher.
