Railroad in U.K.

The railway museum is the National Railway Museum in York is really worth the trip, plus the walled city of York with its cathedral is a treasure all by itself.  The only other one I can suggest is the London Transport Museum, which has an Underground collection.

If you are a steam buff and staying in London, I'd recommend visiting the Tower Bridge engine room at the south side of the river.  (See towerbridge.org.uk.) Or HMS Belfast.
