     Knowing his reputation, I wonder if H.E. Carter had anything to do with that? 
Could be Jimmy.  Although Superintendents preferred male stenos (no
problem when both had to travel together or reside on a business car
overnight) Kinzell had Mrs. John Rehor as his Chief Clerk.  She answered
many a phone call from Mr. Carter asking to speak to Mr. Kinzell.  The
Roanoke side of the conversation was generally
"Yes, Mr. Carter."
"Yes, Mr. Carter"
"Yes, Mr. Carter"?
"Good-bye, Mr. Carter"

After that, Hank would pick the phone up and slam it against the
office wall.  Ho-hum.  Another call to the S&C Department.
