N&W boxcars without doors

Dr. Greer:Those door-less box cars were primarily en route to  agriculturalstations in North Carolina routed N&W-Norfolk-NS.  Without doors ,
the box cars were kept in limestone service.  Too many times,a forty foot box (with doors) cleaned to handle packaged cigarettes,for example,would return to the owning road coated in limestone dust.                                                                       Harry Bundy
