Transfer Cab ???

What do we truly know about the pedigree of car pictured below? I know 
Cond. Buddy St. John used it on the East End job in Roanoke Term. Is it 
considered a transfer cab or what? I can't find any other photos of this 
car in the archives, do any others exist?
