Military Train

Jeff:
I'd say that MAINs were somewhat rare.  As time
went by, believe the military found it was cheaper
to fly troops.  Incidentally, they may not have been
MAIN  trains, but in the mid-50s, the Navy transferred
a division from Norfolk to San Diego.  No. 3 had
three following sections to transfer families of Navy
personnel.  Power supplied ?  All Class J's.  Imagine
what Nos. 45-46 and others had for stand-ins.
