 The Scioto Division had different ways of doing things.   As the late R. D. Painter put it-
"In 1959, N&W merged with the Virginian.   In 1964, N&W merged with NKP, Wabash, P&WV
and W&LE.  One day, the N&W will merge with the Scioto Division."  Harry Bundy

-got the same response back. The N&W was more than just Virginia and West Virginia. There is no denying the N&W roots, but do not cut off the branches because they are above the ground, it is all the same family tree. The N&W itself did not start out as the N&W, there were marriages along the way and family members were added each time.
