 Hello
Further to my email regarding my photo of a N&W Garrett in a Convention
‘What-If’ competition, the beast has surfaced and is attached, Photoshop
has improved somewhat in the ensuing years.

The advantages of a Garrett were,
Short boiler and deep firebox making for high efficiency.
Ability to take sharp curves.
Good ride.

Disadvantages
Traction reduced as fuel and water is used.
Long steam pipes could cause trouble in cold winters.
Licencing costs to Beyer Peacock
Despites this they were very successful in Africa and Australia.
