N&W U28b

Does anyone know what the small loop like triangle bracket at the side edge
or the cab roof just above the post between the middle and rear side
windows. In looking at U28b photos these show up in every photo. Not sure
if it is some sort or light, or a antenna. I have a clear screen shot of
what I am looking for.
