Scioto Signalling

 Had a chance to do a little photography on the NS Kenova district this
week and saw some pre-Vader style position light signals.  I assume that
once upon a time all the signals on this stretch were CPLs and that at some
point it was decided to change to (SOU? NKP? style) PLs.
Does anyone have any information on when the change to oldschool PLs might
have begun and for that matter, when was the first appearance of Vaders?
