M1 RPO Black Doors?

In looking at various N&W mail cars it appears that only the cars with the
15' mail apartment (I assume was a one man assignment) Class BMg and BMh
had the black doors at some time within their career.  The big question
would be when and how long but that we likely will never know.

Looking at the few M1 photos I have access too right now it is interesting
to see just how much or how little black was used with these cars.

One example shows black ends, door frame and striker plates below the
doors...

...while another shot shows only the door frame and striker plate being
painted black.

As for blue M1s for a time they were on loan in the mid-60s to the Florida
East Coast who painted the cars up to match their equipment.  There is a
shot of one of these cars that had been relettered N&W in the N&W COLOR
GUIDE though how much use the cars saw, if anything, is not known by me.
