regional nomenclature question

I agree with Dr. Greer. The term "Roanoke Valley" has been used for decades.However, very recently, in order to "rename" the area to try to appeal to a larger visitor base, the CoC and Conv. & Visitors Bureau is calling us  "Virginia's Blue Ridge". Go figure!

Roanoke Valley is what I am most family with, and Blue Ridge would be a possible second.

Everyone probably has a different opinion, but Central Virginia is the Lynchburg area. The Roanoke area is the Roanoke Valley.
