The office/business car scenario makes sense. I have never seen or heard of one. 

The bottom has green felt by the way. There were very few bids on this item. I am very lucky to acquire it.

I acquired the N&W dining car speedometer (correct spelling) at a railroad auction.

Attached are photos. The tag is marked “Speedometer - Dining Room” on a N&W tag.

Any information would be helpful.
