I have a video of that full trip which includes the ferry to CSX, the Santa Express and what went into to it.  The derailment on the wye is also part of the video.  I’ll have to dig that out now.  Bob’s description of that year’s train was down to the detail.

Really enjoyed Bob Loehne's comprehensive blow-by-blow account of the 50th running of the CSX Santa Train. Although it is "the other man's railroad" it was one of the great steam events of the second half of the last century. If Joe Biden had been there he would have pronounced it a big ... deal! One of the real wonders of the day was to see that huge articulated enter and exit the many tunnels on that run. I attach a shot made where it has paused to allow santa to toss from the rear and the cars and folks lining the highway are just amazing.
