Carl will be riding the train in from Lynchburg as are a number of folks.

At the present, the only Roanoke Chapter car in the train will be tool car 1407. Coach 537 is undergoing a major renovation for possible service at a later date, coach 512 is scheduled for work as well. Former sleeper Scioto County, numbered 1489, is undergoing work to make it available as a first class lounge car. Food Car No. 1148 is also undergoing work to bring it back to operational status.

Due to the major work needed to be used in mainline service, and no practical way to return the investment in that cost, round end observation car No. 3305 Mardi Gras was sold several years ago and is now in service in Colorado. Coach 1829 was retired after being fatally damaged in the September 1994 wreck at Lynchburg, and was later scrapped. Coach 1827 was sold to Monticello Railroad Museum a few years ago prior to any interest in the 611 and company.
