Switch Terminology

What we would hear over the radio was when the dispatcher is having
trouble with a _/*power switch*/_ and communicating with the signal
maintainer, the maintainer would ask the dispatcher to either "Normal"
or "Reverse" the switch.

Conversations between crew members would be concerning a_/*hand thrown
switch*/_, "did you open up?", "did you leave the switch open?" or "did
you close up?" or telling the dispatcher the same.
