Went cruising through the annual reports CD files and came up with info
about the plants and tanks.
1905 Annual Report
Water filter plants were constructed at Pembroke and Lurich.
A water softening plant was installed at Joyce Avenue Yard, Columbus.
1906 Annual Report
A water filter was constructed at East Radford.
Water softening plants were installed at Walton, Morgan, North Fork, Delano
and Circleville.
1910 Annual Report
A water softening plant was installed at Dorney, and the plant at Walton
was enlarged.
1911 Annual Report
High steel storage tanks of 200,000 gallons capacity for use in connection
with water softening plants were erected at Lindsey and Vine, W. Va., Coal
Grove, Haverhill, Wheelersburg, Clifford, Waverly, Renick and Cromley, Ohio.
Water softening plants were installed at Lindsey and Williamson, W. Va.,
Coal Grove, Haverhill, Wheelersburg, East Portsmouth, Clifford, Waverly,
Renick and Cromley, Ohio, and the plant at Dorney, Ohio, was enlarged by
the removal of plant from Delano, Ohio.
1912 Annual Report
Water softening plants were installed at Vine, W. Va., and Reeses, Ohio.
1913 Annual Report
A water softening plant was installed at Elliston, Va.
1914 Annual Report
Water softening plants were installed at Lamberts Point, Portlock and Glade
Spring, Va., Crum, Glenhayes and Prichard, W. Va. and the plant at
Columbus, 0. was enlarged.
1917 Annual Report
Water filtering plants were installed at Petersburg and Island Yard, Va.
and a water softening plant was erected at Naugatuck, W. Va.
1920 Annual Report
A complete water supply plant has been installed at West Roanoke,
consisting of a 6,000,000 gallon concrete pumping station with electrically
driven centrifugal pumps, a 2,000,000 gallon concrete reservoir, a
2,400,000 gallon per day water treating plant, a 200,000 gallon concrete
tank, together with about 7,700 lineal feet of 18-inch cast iron pipe line.
A serious water shortage occurred at Roanoke last year, and it is expected
that the construction of this plant will avoid this danger.
1921 Annual Report
A complete water supply plant, consisting of a 2,000,000 gallon per day
brick-concrete pumping station, with electrically driven centrifugal pumps,
a 200,000 gallon concrete storage tank, together with about 2000 feet of
8-inch and 12-inch cast iron pipe line, was installed at East Radford.
1923 Annual Report
Water softening plants of 25,000 gallons per hour capacity were installed
at Shenandoah Junction, W. Va., and Clare, Ohio, of 50,000 gallons per hour
capacity at Columbus, Ohio, and of 125,000 gallons per hour capacity at
Portsmouth, Ohio.
1924 Annual Report
Water softening plants were installed as follows: One of 100,000 gallons
per hour capacity at Williamson, W. Va., one of 55,000 gallons per hour
capacity at Domey, Ohio, one of 45,000 gallons per hour capacity at Coal
Grove, Ohio, and one of 19,000 gallons per hour capacity at Auville, W. Va.
Water softeners of 16,000 gallons per hour capacity were transferred from
Portsmouth, Ohio, to Sardinia and Rarden, Ohio.
1925 Annual Report
Water softening plants of 60,000 gallons per hour capacity were installed
at Prichard and Stonecoal, W. Va., and one, transferred from Williamson, W.
Va., and increased to 26,000 gallons per hour capacity, was installed at
Vulcan, W. Va.
1926 Annual Report
A water softening plant of 125,000 gallons per hour capacity was
constructed at Roanoke, Va.
