The Virginia Tech Libraries (and consequently, anyone with a VT ID)
has access to the on-line Sanborn insurance map collection covering
Virginia and the District of Columbia. Here are two editions of the
same page, from 1919 and the 1950s, that show the signal shop and
other buildings in that area.
