High Bridge - Bridge ID Number?

The 1986 track chart for Pocahontas Division shows some bridges with
original Bridge numbers and some bridges with mileage numbers.

Jeff:
High Bridge is Bridge #52.  I suspect that the
bridge numbering system disappeared sometime
after the Southern merger.  Even the 1984 track
charts show bridge numbers, but the NS track
charts later on did away with ID'ing bridges with
numbers.  The 1990 track chart for Norfolk Terminal
shows no number for the Eastern Branch (N&W)
draw bridge (formerly Bridge 5), but Bridge 7
appears on the station line and so does High
Bridge in the Virginia Div. track chart,
