Thanks for sharing this unique photo Jeff. Must have been pretty exciting on
that platform, and in the tower, when the fun started happening. Would
'guard-rail' curve have been part of an alternate east-bound main at this
time?  Was it electrified?   John Garner,  Newport, VA

The HS hopper dates it between 1918 & 1923 (built and rebuilt years)

As Bud Jeffries pointed out, the electrification puts it after 1915, but
further the HSa hopper (second one going back) would not have been built
prior to 1918 according to Dow.
