Coopers, WV - Derailment Photo

Jeff,

You can see the catenary wire and insulators at the top of the photo and so this has to be 1915 or later.  The "AND NEW ENGLAND" on the hopper would probably be that of the Scioto Valley and New England RR built as separate company from Columbus, Ohio reaching Coal Grove, Ohio in 1881.  The SV&NE was purchased by the N&W and the physical connection was made in 1892, most of which became the Columbus line.

  A friend of mine from Lynchburg sent me the attached photo earlier this week.  He found it in his grandparent's basement.  Has anyone ever seen this one before or is it something that has never seen the light of day?  The third hopper car from the left really captured my interest. ..."AND NEW ENGLAND".  Does anyone have information on this derailment?  My best guess is that the photograph is from the 1920's, perhaps a bit earlier.
