611 side rods

I have been participating in an online railfan forum regarding 611's side rods, and the question came up if the rods were plated (having heard the rods were originally cadmium plated) as well as how the rods would be treated in the restoration. Knowing the Fire Up 611 committee is busy with fundraising and preparation for the restoration, I have decided to present these questions to you.
