Jimmy,

That is a belt line since it connectws two points: the N&W line to the C&O line. There was a belt line in Roanoke from the West Roanoke yards to the Wnston-Salem line.

To counter that, there was the "C&O belt line" in Waynesboro, Va. that went from the N&W's "Southbound Siding" and roughly followed along the west bank of the river around to the C&O siding west of their station. As with Waynesboro yard, both the C&O and N&W served quite a few industries along the line.
