Ruesens is on the James River in Lynchburg, home to EJ Lavino which 
smelted (?) ferromaganese ore there until the 60's.  this photo

2009.  The caption says they closed in 1962 but I recall activity there 
until the late 60's when I was in high school.   The sky would be red 
when they tapped the furnaces.
Lavino also had steam switchers until the late 60's but I was too dumb 
to take photos.  see
