Rural Retreat Depot awarded grant for repairs

The Rural Retreat Depot Foundation was awarded a grant of $49,000 yesterday, to be used for 'stabilization repairs'.  These repairs to the foundation and roof are aimed at halting further deterioration of the wooden structure while we continue to pursue full funding for the restoration.  On Wednesday the Foundation celebrated the very successful completion of the first year of Farmers' Market at the Depot, signifying that the building has returned to a center of activity for the town.  The Depot will be Haunted on Ocbober 25, and the site of a Holiday Bazaar on December 6,7,8.  A press release providing further details on the grant is in preparation.
