In some recent footage I acquired there are scenes of 3-4 different
K2a's(4-8-2)
being towed to scrap at Batavia on the local from Portsmouth to
Cincinnati. On these too, the tender
stripe is gone, as is the N&W on the tender. The tenders almost look
as though they came from a different engine.
In one sequence two of these were coupled together near the caboose.
