From my conversations with David I believe he was born in Pounding Mill, a small community in Tazewell County on the N&W's Clinch Valley Line.

The Obit lists he was born in Pounding Mill, Virginia, in 1928.  Is that the Pounding Mill Run or Creek community then next to Covington, Virginia?
