     For those of you in the Roanoke area, in case you missed it, former 
Shenandoah Div. Conductor W.D. (Doug) Dean passed away on July 3rd. Doug 
started his N&W career on Roanoke Terminal and later transferred to the 
Roanoke District of the Shenandoah Div. from where he retired. Doug was 
quite the character and the consummate Brakeman/Conductor.
     As Joesy Wales would have said: "I rode with him. I got no complaints."
