All,
Per the NS 2012 SGCR, Section 1100(f), item 13, mounting and dismounting any
equipment while carrying the brake stick is not permitted. Perhaps this rule
has been in effect for sometime but I just recently came across the rulebook.

This is interesting particularly from a modeling standpoint, as I model
ultra-modern NS.
I'm personally surprised NS hasn't done this years ago when they started the use
of brake sticks. Seems potentially hazardous ot try to board a train and have to
navigate around the stick laying on the walkway after having climbed back
aboard.

That is interesting Russ. I haven't seen those around yet. At least those sticks
won't be making noise rattling around in the cab now.
