Class J 611

My understanding from magazine articles at the time of 611's retirement was that it was due for its 25 year boiler inspection.  That is why 1218 was sidelined already.  It's boiler was due for maintenance and possibly inspection.   (Not speaking from authority, but memory...always dangerous.)
Do any of you remember the 1999 convention when the NS official who was keynote speaker told me that I would grow hair before the steam program would be revived--looking forward to buying a comb!
