I rode the Lynchburg bike trail Monday morning, which is  on ten miles of 
N&W's old main line through town.  The city crews  finished clearing the  
Island Yard Trail section Sunday and those who rode  there during the NWHS 
convention may be interested to know what it is like  now.  There are hundreds 
of trees down!  Many large, old trees were  pulled up out of the ground and 
others were blown over, including the root  balls! Some were snapped off. I 
noticed in some places, the leaves of the  undergrowth plants were blown off!
