N. & W. May Get N. R. H. & W.
    There is a rumor afloat which says that the Norfolk and Western may take over the New River, Holston and Western railroad and extend it, eventually, to Pisgah or Maxwell, at which point it will tap the Clinch Valley division of the Norfolk and Western.  The report says the move has been talked of for a long time and it has again been revived because of the plans the present owners have for extending the line about twenty miles, giving the road to a total mileage of forty-one miles.
