I’m surprised they didn’t take you up on the offer or replied that they already have a set drawings. You are correct, all the paint manufacturer’s (I recall DuPont?) information for each color of paint used was listed on the drawings.

Ed,

I have offered a copy of the painting blueprints to the VMT if they need them. This drawing does list the colors as well. I don't know if NS still has that in their archives.

Thanks,

I have a copy of the N&W’s original 1776 blueprints (including a star template) for painting it into the bicentennial scheme (somewhere between Arkansas and Georgia). It included the specifics for the paints/colors used. Would this information be of any value if I can find them?

So far just about everything they VMT has repainted has been the wrong color
Instruction Car, 1135 and the 1776 if some one doesn't help them out .
Richard your down there see if you can steer them in the right direction. This
stuff is not rocket science.

Maybe if it goes to Chattanooga the color will be correct...

The paint they have on the 1135 is nowhere near correct for N&W blue.

Thanks,

NW 1776 will be moving today from the Virginia Museum of Transportation to Shaffers Crossing.

Following one or two days of attention to its trucks it will move to Chattanooga for repainting.
