Man Found Dead in Car
Randy Thompson, a colored laborer, was found dead in a camp car at West Vivian Thursday morning when the other men in the car were awakened that they might go to work. The cause of death was not learned, but it is supposed to have been due to heart failure, superinduced by a spree which only ended when the spark of life went out. The man was buried on the railroad right-of-way, no friends claiming the body.

[Based on this article and other accounts of that era there could be many unmarked graves along the N&W.]
