Your correct on the trucks. Ross Rowland had two of these tanks behind 614 He latter
sold one to NS which is the one that ended up behind 1218 now behind 765

Larry,
The tank I was referring to was the one listed below in rrpicturearchives.
The tank behind 765 is indeed the one used behind 1218,it was originally behind one of the Lima built L&N M-1s hence the Commonwealth trucks.

The photo is of an ex L&N tender from one of the Baldwin built M-1 class 2-8-4 locomotives "Big Emmas".The Baldwin tenders had Buckeye trucks. This tender was used behind 611 as an A-tank when it was rebuilt in 1982.It had a Tuscan stripe at that time.It went to the Noblesville group in 1989 to be used with their Nickel Plate Mikado 587.

I thought the excursion tanks had Commonwealth trucks with rotating end cap roller bearings, a different water hatch and the rivets burned off.

AFAIK, there are no N&W Auxialary tanks from the steam era in existence; I believe this is a photo of an ex-L&N tender.

The picture on this page: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=903877 looks like a real N&W A tank. I didn't think any where left. Does anyone know anything about it?
