Thank you Max & Gene! This is a pleasant surprise, this accident happened to my Daddy. He had to quit school and go to work at age13, to help support the family of 3 boys and 4 girls upon the death of his mother. He was born May 15, 1895, so that made him 16 years old with 3 years of service! He worked 52 more years on the N&W. He was automatically retired on his 70th birthday and lived to be 95 years old. He was a locomotive engineer when he retired.
I didn't know about him being in the hospital in Bluefield due to his being caught between two cars!

Max;
Forward this to Bobby, I don't have his address.
I would like to know if this is any of his relation.
Thank you;
Gene A.

NO BONES BROKEN
------
Robert Hearn in Hospital Doing as Well as Could be Expected
Robert Hearn, who is now at St. Luke's hospital, following an accident at Northfork Friday evening, is much improved. The physicians now state that no bones are broken and that the patient is doing as well as can be expected. He was moved yesterday to a room on second floor of the hospital and if there are no complications his recovery should be rapid. His sister, Miss Annie Hearn, of this city, is with him.
The youth, who is employed as a water boy on a construction crew, was sitting on the end of one of the cars at Northfork, when extra 1063 backed a cut of cars against the car on which he was sitting, catching his leg and mashing it between the bumpers. He is the son of John Hearn, of Graham, and a nephew of Superintendent W. R. Dawson, of this city.
