It would have also caused major damage to the station platforms. Remember that much of the area where those racks were laying were station tracks with an overhead canopy.

Hi Roanoke Folks :
I have been wondering why all of the white trucks & green vests still working at the derailment site in downtown Roanoke. I usually expect them to clean up - repair & move on.
There has been workers there for several days.
