TRAM ROAD TO MINES
------
Preparations Being Made to Develop Iron Ore at Narrows
It is reported here that the Virginian Railway is to locate a siding at the Narrows, convenient to the iron deposits which are located at that point. At the present time some iron is being taken out of the mountains and it is said that a survey of a site for a tram road from the mines has already been made. A number of cars have been secured for hauling the ore. Last night Dr. C. J. French of Kermit, passed through the city on his way to Narrows where he will meet Walter Graham, who arranged the meeting for the purpose of discussing an option on about 150 acres of land said to contain iron which the doctor owns.
A good portion of the land in that section of the country, which is thought to contain iron deposits, is said to be owned by the Virginia Company, which concern is a subsidiary of the Norfolk and Western.
