A Y6b Question

I believe it had something to do with the placement of the feedwater heater water pump. On the original order of Y6b's it was located crosswise in a notch at the bottom of the smokebox. This reduced the size of the smokebox cover to the extent that there may not have been sufficient room for the standard round smokebox door that was used on the Y6-Y6a classes. On subsequent orders, the FWH pump was relocated to the fireman's side of the smokebox, and a new smokebox cover was installed. This was larger and had room for the round door. IIRC, the oblong door was a copy of the door used on the Y2's!

Why were the Y6b's built with the
oblong smoke box doors instead of the standard circular ones that previous Y
class 2-8+8-2's had? By what date were these unusual doors
replaced?
