Norfolk and Western Files Answer in Suit of Bluefield Shippers, Mass of Figures Being Presented to Interstate Commerce Commission

WITNESSES TO BE SUBJECTED TO CROSS-EXAMINATION TODAY
Washington, April 10 (Special)--The testimony of the Norfolk and Western Railway company was given today, before Interstate Commerce Commissioner Pronty, in the case of the Bluefield Shippers Association against the Norfolk and Western and other railroads.
The railroad does not deny that rates to Bluefield are higher than rates to Roanoke, even where the distance is less, but asserts its right to make such rates.
A mass of figures was presented today and adjournment was taken till tomorrow morning when the Bluefield parties will enter upon a cross examination of a the Norfolk and Western witnesses.
Bluefield is represented by H. B. Arnold, of Columbus, attorney, G. M. Freer, of Columbus, rate expert, and J. M. Andrew, W. W. Lacy and C. H. Goodykoontz, of the Bluefield Shippers Association.
