DEAD BODY FOUND BY RAILROAD TRACK
------
Investigation Indicates That M. C. McLaughlin Was Murdered and Man Named Jones Is Under Arrest
M. C. McLaughlin, of near Pando, was found dead yesterday morning on the railroad track at Pando by Ira R. Woolwine. At first it was thought that the man, who had been drinking the previous night, had fallen asleep on the track and met his death in this manner, but an investigation proved that his body showed signs of violence, and believing that the man had been killed and then placed on the track, an investigation was started, which developed the fact that McLaughlin was seen the previous night in company with a man named Jones and another man. It appears that Jones and McLaughlin had a contemporaneous love affair with a woman who lived in that section and as they were rivals it was believed that an investigation might be productive of results. Jones was arrested and lodged in jail at Welch and may appear before the grand jury. The case created considerable excitement in the neighborhood of Pando and Davy where sudden deaths frequently occur along the railroad.
