CLERK CONVICTED OF RIFLING MAILS

Usual Mode of Tracing Crime Ensnares Railway Mail Clerk And He Gets Six Months
    Roanoke, Va., Feb. 24 (Special)--Harry L. Willis, postal clerk on the Norfolk and Western, was found guilty here today or rifling the mails while discharging his duties.  Several letters addressed to Roanoke were missed.  Inspectors Mosby and Robertson, on being assigned to the case, deposited a decoy letter containing marked money and thus traced the crime to Willis.  He was defended by well known attorneys, and many prominent residents of Rappahannock and Culpeper counties, where he formerly lived, testified in his behalf.  He was sentenced to six month in the Rappahannock jail.
