When I lived in Bluefield in the '50's, my Dad, who did power company
service work all over the WV - VA area, always pronounced it pretty much as it's
spelled - "Bos (rhymes with "Oz") - i (as in "did"; NOT a long "eee" in
spite of the spelling) - vain (LOL as you would expect to pronounce it)".
Of course, the residents may have their own idea, so hopefully someone who
lives in the area now can either verify or shoot me down!
