UNUSUAL STUNT
------
Sixteen Oxen and Pair of Mules Pull Boilers to Mines
The Sycamore Coal Company, which company is putting in a new mine at Sycamore, on the Norfolk and Western [on the Sycamore Branch just east of Williamson], pulled off an unusual stunt for this section recently when it took two new large boilers to its new mines. Sixteen oxen and a pair of mules were attached to a boiler and it was drawn three miles to the mine. Afterward, the same plan was adopted to get the other up to the workings. The railroad grading is about completed for the new railroad and because there will probably be no more scenes of the kind in the neighborhood of Williamson, Mr. Patterson, of the Sycamore company, secured photographs of the oxen and mules dragging the boilers. He expects to have the photographs in a few days.
