Private Cars From Several Roads Carrying Railway Men to St. Louis
The longest solid train of private cars which ever passed through this city arrived here at 7:10 yesterday morning and left at 7:30. It was made up of Norfolk and Western cars Nos. 1, 2 and 3, Norfolk and Southern No. 100, Cumberland Valley No. 41, a Philadelphia and Reading president's car, two Pennsylvania railroad president's and general manager's cars, two Pullmans and a baggage car, and carried railroad presidents, general managers, general superintendents and vice presidents on their [way] to St. Louis to attend the meeting of the American Railway Association [Became the Association of American Railroads in 1934.].
President L. E. Johnson, Vice President N. D. Maher, General Superintendents A. C. Needles and George P. Johnson, representing the Norfolk and Western went with the party. W. R. Hudson*, representing the Norfolk and Southern, was in the Norfolk and southern car.
